Responsibility: Response Ability (can you make the connection?)
Responsibility – the state or fact of being answerable, or accountable for something within one’s power, control, or management.
Responsibility simplified – being accountable for one’s actions and ability to respond to stimuli that will promote the growth of the “things” that they have power or influence over.
How many of you have noticed the connection between responsibility and the ability to respond. Think about it for a second. The ability to respond is actually a gift given for the promulgation of an idea or group. Abilities are the powers or the capacity to action, response is a reaction of stimulus, and responsibility is the given power to act in response to an issue. I have never know this before, and now I can see how these two concepts merge to give a more defined meaning.
Now, knowing this, one must realize that they have the power.
If you want to make a change in your world, you will be influenced by things in your life that will demand a response or attention. If you have the capability to do so, you must respond in order to make a change, or even to keep things the same. To shirk off your responsibility is essentially the willingness to give up your power and to give up your ability to do anything. Doing nothing in a world of constant change is certain death.
We live in a world where people live, yet they give responsibility of their well-being to overseers. People give their power away with a voting ballot. People allow themselves to be controlled by family, lovers, emotions, money, cars, news, bosses, and a wealth of other external forces.
When will you take control? When will you take responsibility? When will you realize that you have the ABILITY to RESPOND to the world? When will you grow your own power?
God gave you the power to shape your environment, when will you stop letting that environment shape you?
Peace be with you.
